The state ranked 15th among <a title=\"Cyberstates\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221209212512\/http:\/\/techamericafoundation.org\/cyberstates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cyberstates<\/a>, employing over 155,000 tech industry workers. Cyberstates is a report by TechAmerica which quantifies the high-tech industry on a state-by-state basis in the U.S.. According to the report, <strong>Michigan added 2,700 <\/strong>tech workers last year.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan now boasts <strong>155,100 technology employees<\/strong>. National heavyweights reliant on tech workers including <a title=\"Ford\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ford.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ford Motor Company<\/a> (<a title=\"NYSE : F\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nyse.com\/quote\/XNYS:F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">F<\/a>), <a title=\"General Motors\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener noreferrer\">General Motors<\/a> (<a title=\"NYSE : GM\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NYSE-GM\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">GM<\/a>), <a title=\"Chrysler\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chrysler.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chrysler<\/a>, <a title=\"Dow Chemical\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dow Chemicals<\/a> (<a title=\"NYSE : DOW\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NYSE-DOW\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DOW<\/a>), and <a title=\"Stryker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stryker.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stryker<\/a> (<a title=\"NYSE : SYK\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NYSE-SYK\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SYK<\/a>) also have ramped up tech sector hiring.<\/p>\n<h3>Tech jobs key to Michigan economic future<\/h3>\n<p>Michigan <a title=\"United States Senate\" href=\"http:\/\/www.senate.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Senator<\/a> <a title=\"Debbie Stabenow\" href=\"http:\/\/stabenow.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Debbie Stabenow<\/a>, who joined <a title=\"TechAmerica\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/wiki\/TechAmerica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TechAmerica<\/a> for the announcement, said tech jobs play an important part in Michigan\u2019s ongoing economic turnaround.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ford.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-98703\" title=\"Ford\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ford_logo.jpg?resize=119%2C54&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Ford\" width=\"119\" height=\"54\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ford_logo.jpg?resize=150%2C68&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ford_logo.jpg?resize=75%2C34&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ford_logo.jpg?w=180&amp;ssl=1 180w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 119px) 100vw, 119px\" \/><\/a>\u201c<em>It focuses on all the work we\u2019ve been doing on advanced battery technologies, the research, and development into new <a title=\"Clean energy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ucsusa.org\/clean_energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">clean energy<\/a> alternatives and <a title=\"Electric vehicle\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electric_vehicle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">electric vehicles<\/a>,<\/em>\u201d she said. \u201d<em>The great news is we are developing and growing an industry that can cut across many different kinds of businesses \u2026 being a <a title=\"High tech\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/High_tech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">high-tech<\/a> hub.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>I think it\u2019s significant to layer on this also that we are the number one state in new clean energy patents. In other words, new ideas being developed and being patented,<\/em>\u201d Ms. Stabenow said.<\/p>\n<p>Representing about 1,000 member companies of all sizes from the public and commercial sectors of the economy, TechAmerica is an industry advocacy organization \u201cdedicated to helping members\u2019 top and bottom lines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>rb-<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>I first noted the up-surge in Michigan tech jobs <a title=\"rbach.net\" href=\"http:\/\/rbachnet.wwwmi3-ss40.a2hosted.com\/index.php\/detroit-is-growth-leader-in-tech-jobs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. I have hired 6 new staff in the last six months, 3 of which were unemployed when I brought them on.
