The deal valued a $5 billion, is Insight\u2019s second major <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221205220149\/https:\/\/www.msspalert.com\/investments\/insight-partners-buys-armis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">acquisition of 2020<\/a>. The firm has grown to 365,000 customers worldwide and annual sales of more than $1 billion by capitalizing on the VMware-led server <strong>virtualization boom<\/strong>. As part of the take-over, the founders will leave the firm and Veeam will <strong>become a U.S. company<\/strong> based in New York. The company had been based in Baar, Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>Veeam&#8217;s products include backup solutions, cloud security offerings, and <strong>cloud data management<\/strong>. Veeam&#8217;s cloud data management portfolio consists of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veeam.com\/aws-backup.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Veeam Backup for <strong>Amazon Web Services<\/strong><\/a> (AWS), <a href=\"https:\/\/go.veeam.com\/backup-office-365\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Veeam Backup for <strong>Microsoft Office 365<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veeam.com\/universal-licensing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Veeam Universal License<\/a> (VUL), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veeam.com\/backup-azure.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Veeam Backup for <strong>Microsoft Azure<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Private equity plans<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-112270\" title=\"Veeam's products include backup solutions\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/man-with-clipboard-2.jpg?resize=69%2C100&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Veeam's products include backup solutions\" width=\"69\" height=\"100\" \/>The private equity company has a three-stage program to help the companies in which it invests grow, including the Startup stage of focused on companies looking for early growth in their markets, the ScaleUp stage for companies with strong businesses, and the Corporate stage for companies ready for IPOs or other exits, Mike Triplett, a managing director of Insight Partners and new Veeam board member <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crn.com\/news\/storage\/veeam-to-be-acquired-by-insight-partners-in-5b-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CRN<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ZDNet<\/a><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/veeam-software-acquired-by-insight-partners-for-5-billion-in-hybrid-cloud-market-push\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">says<\/a> Veeam is in the second &#8220;ScaleUp&#8221; stage as customers are now also<strong> utilizing hybrid cloud<\/strong> setups with AWS, Azure, IBM, and Google, the firm&#8217;s &#8220;Act II&#8221; is to capitalize on a growing need for cloud data management across these environments. Channele2e <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20230327204924\/https:\/\/www.channele2e.com\/investors\/private-equity\/insight-partners-acquires-veeam-software-for-5-billion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reports<\/a> that private equity investors are sitting on a record <strong>$1.5\u00a0trillion<\/strong> in cash. This kind of war chest is no wonder private equity firms and hedge funds have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocketlawyer.com\/blog\/the-5-worst-ceo-flameouts-you-might-not-have-heard-of-914609\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bad reputation<\/a>. VC firms have a history of acquiring businesses, loading them up with debt, and cutting staff to boost profits. The most recent examples being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2018\/10\/16\/investing\/retail-sears-private-equity\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sears<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrons.com\/articles\/private-equity-firms-provide-20-million-in-assistance-for-former-toys-r-us-employees-1542737621\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Toys R Us<\/a>. Channele2e <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220630003205\/https:\/\/www.channele2e.com\/investors\/private-equity\/insight-partners-scaleup-onsite-explained\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">points out<\/a> that U.S. presidential candidate\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/elizabethwarren.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elizabeth Warren<\/a> is calling for new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/2020-candidate-warren-proposes-new-private-equity-constraints\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">private equity restraints<\/a> to combat \u201clegalized looting.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I have seen that Veeam has a Russian problem.
