resumes<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Up to\u00a0<strong>75% of qualified applicants <\/strong>have been <a make some COVID-19 changes to your resume to increase your odds of getting an interview for your next job.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Update your resume with work from home<\/h3>\r\n<p><a Instead, consider remote work with organizations where you can offer value.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Add resiliency to your resume\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n<p>Next, make sure to highlight how you worked through COVID-19. The fact you got through the pandemic shows <strong>you are resilient<\/strong>. Highlight your<strong> achievements during the lockdown.<\/strong>\u00a0How did you continue building on your experience? Or how did you help your business stay afloat? Unless the job you are applying for specifically wants 15+ years of experience with a particular skill delete it. Listing dates on your resume prior to 2005 is only going to age you. <strong>Remove outdated software versions or skills too<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Update your resume to be smart enough<\/h3>\r\n<p>If you are applying for a job requiring a bachelor\u2019s degree but you are listing your <strong>advanced degrees<\/strong> (e.g., master&#8217;s or doctorate), you may be disqualified as overqualified or too expensive. Adjust your Education section to<strong> target the job posting<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Remove your high school &amp; graduation date.<\/li>\r\n<li>If you graduated from college more than five years ago, remove college graduation dates.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Be reachable on your resume<\/h3>\r\n<p>You need to use current communications channels during your job search. It makes the search easier and you can appear younger on your resume.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><b>Sanitize your address<\/b> &#8211; a city and state are good enough &#8211; especially if you 3rd parties are involved &#8211; y<strong>our safety is important<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Dump that aol.com or yahoo.com email address. Use a Gmail or Outlook account. <a href=\"http:\/\/press.careerbuilder.com\/2018-08-24-Employers-Share-Their-Most-Outrageous-Resume-Mistakes-and-Instant-Deal-Breakers-in-a-New-CareerBuilder-Study\">Careerbuilder<\/a> says that 35% of hiring managers view an <strong>unprofessional email address as a deal-breaker<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Put a <strong>LinkedIn link<\/strong> on your resume.
