It is the 51st <strong>Earth Day<\/strong>. Earth day is the largest civic observance in the world. At the first Earth Day in 1970, concerned citizens gathered across the country to learn about environmental degradation. The activism that followed led to the passing of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/clean-air-act-overview\/clean-air-act-text#:~:text=The%20Clean%20Air%20Act%20is,has%20made%20several%20minor%20changes.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clean Air Act<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/laws-regulations\/summary-clean-water-act#:~:text=The%20Clean%20Water%20Act%20(CWA,quality%20standards%20for%20surface%20waters.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clean Water Act<\/a>. These are still landmark legislation in <strong>environmental protection<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<h3>How to commemorate Earth Day<\/h3>\r\n<p>To commemorate Earth Day 2021, here are some ways to make your tech greener.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>Reuse Old PC&#8217;s<\/strong> &#8211; Retired hardware can be <a href=\"\/\/www.digitaltrends.com\/computing\/6-ways-to-repurpose-a-retired-pc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">used for tasks<\/a> with lower resource requirements. An SSD can extend your laptop battery life by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomshardware.com\/features\/ssd-vs-hdd-hard-drive-difference\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">30-45 minutes<\/a> on average. And they are quitier too.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Skip the printer<\/strong> &#8211; Use online communications. By skipping the printer you can save a tree and save the <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.me\/p2wgaW-d0j\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">money you waste<\/a> on printer ink. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.momnet.com\/do-you-know-how-much-your-company-is-spending-on-printing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">According to<\/a>\u00a0PricewaterhouseCoopers, the average person makes 10,000 copies or prints annually at the office plus printing at home.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Skip the daily commute<\/strong> &#8211; Thanks to COVID, most of use are telecommuting now but &#8211; skipping the\u00a0 commuting to the job can reduce green house gas CO2 that causes climate change.
