I was a fan of the Palm. I went thru a series of them in the 2000\u2019s. In 2011 I marked the <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.me\/p2wgaW-jrb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sale of the PalmOS<\/a> on the <a href=\"https:\/\/rbach.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>BachSeat<\/em><\/a>. PalmOS has had a number of names since it glory days. It was also known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2014\/1\/2\/5264580\/the-lost-secrets-of-webos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">HP webOS<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/hp-webos-open-source-begins-what-next\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Open webOS<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/10-reasons-palm-failed-and-had-to-sell-to-hp-2010-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">HP<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webosarchive.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Palm webOS<\/a>, and most recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lgwebos.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>LG webOS<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-111803\" title=\"SmartTV\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/tv-spying.jpg?resize=95%2C73&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"SmartTV\" width=\"95\" height=\"73\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/tv-spying.jpg?resize=150%2C116&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/tv-spying.jpg?resize=75%2C58&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/tv-spying.jpg?resize=768%2C593&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/tv-spying.jpg?w=787&amp;ssl=1 787w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 95px) 100vw, 95px\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">LG<\/a> (<a title=\"LSE : LGLD\" href=\"http:\/\/www.londonstockexchange.com\/exchange\/prices-and-markets\/stocks\/summary\/company-summary.html?fourWayKey=US50186Q2021ZZUSDIOBU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LGLD<\/a>) has been using <strong>webOS<\/strong> in their <strong>S<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lg.com\/us\/smart-tvs\/view-all\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">martTV&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> since 2014 and more recently in their line of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidpolice.com\/2017\/01\/04\/lg-announces-smart-instaview-refrigerator-runs-webos-alexa-integration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>smart refrigerators<\/strong><\/a>. LG is updating LG webOS to LG webOS Hub. The LG webOS Hub is a new version of its webOS <strong>streaming television platform<\/strong>. The newest version incorporates a new hub for third-party partners to plug into.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Son of PalmOS<\/h3>\r\n<p>The webOS Hub will <strong>incorporate many third-party applications<\/strong> that are supported by LG&#8217;s streaming operating system. Some of the third-parties including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Netflix<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-NFLX\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NFLX<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hulu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Hulu<\/a>, <a title=\"Amazon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amazon<\/a> (<a title=\"NASDAQ : AMZN\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-AMZN\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AMZN<\/a>) Prime Video, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.disneyplus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Disney Plus<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NYSE-DIS\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DIS<\/a>) Plus, and YouTube <a title=\"Google\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google<\/a> (<a title=\"NASDAQ : GOOG\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-GOOG\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GOOG<\/a>). It will also include LG Channels, the company&#8217;s free, ad-supported streaming service. Support for <a title=\"Nvidia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/page\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NVidia<\/a>&#8216;s (<a title=\"NASDAQ : NVDA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-NVDA\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NVDA<\/a>) cloud gaming service is promised in the near future.<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lg.com\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-126076 size-thumbnail\" title=\"LG logo\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo_lg_logo.jpg?resize=75%2C38&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"LG logo\" width=\"75\" height=\"38\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo_lg_logo.jpg?resize=75%2C38&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo_lg_logo.jpg?w=124&amp;ssl=1 124w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 75px) 100vw, 75px\" \/><\/a>LG said webOS Hub was developed in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dolby.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dolby<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realtek.com\/en\/products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Realtek<\/a>, and CEVA. It has been certified by over 160 broadcasters around the world.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Park Hyoung-sei, the president of LG Home Entertainment Company, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiercevideo.com\/video\/lg-rolling-out-new-webos-hub-third-party-smart-tv-makers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">told<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiercevideo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">FierceVideo<\/a>;<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\"><em>We are committed to refining and expanding our webOS Hub ecosystem, which continues to introduce more and more consumers to the unparalleled user experience of LG webOS.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Smart television platforms<\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">More than 120 million devices in 150 countries are powered by some version of webOS. According to analytics firm <a href=\"https:\/\/omdia.tech.informa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Omdia<\/a>, LG\u2019s webOS is one of the more-dominant smart television platforms internationally. LG\u2019s webOS owns around 18.5% of the market. It is bested only by South Korean competitor Samsung, which has nearly 30% of the global streaming platform market.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>rb-<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><em>Besides the nostalgia of seem Palm resurrected into the media,.
