This should be a dose of reality to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/08\/08\/politics\/climate-change-us-floods-what-matters\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">53% of Americans<\/a> who believe <a href=\"https:\/\/climate.nasa.gov\/evidence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">global warming<\/a> will not harm them<\/strong>. The video shows the dire f<a href=\"https:\/\/climate.nasa.gov\/effects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">uture of our planet<\/a> as the oceans shallow major cities across the globe.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/VbiRNT_gWUQ\" width=\"610\" height=\"365\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">?<\/span><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">?<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\r\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">encyclopedia Britannica<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/science\/global-warming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">says<\/a> that <strong>global warming <\/strong>is the increase in the global average surface temperature resulting from the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is caused primarily by <a class=\"md-crosslink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/264699\/worldwide-co2-emissions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">air pollution<\/a>. In 2007 the UN forecast that by 2100 global average surface temperatures would increase up to 7.2 \u00b0F. The UN is 90% certain that most of the warming observed over the previous half century could be attributed to greenhouse gas emissions produced by human activities.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Polar ice caps and mountain glaciers melt<\/h3>\r\n<p>Many scientists predict that such an increase in temperature would cause <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/242340\/average-arctic-sea-ice-extent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">polar ice caps<\/a> and mountain glaciers to melt rapidly. This will cause significant changes to the Earth. The changes include raising sea levels, and new patterns and extremes of drought and rainfall.
