Americans <strong>say they&#8217;ve seen ghosts<\/strong>, and 29% &#8220;<em>felt in touch with someone who has died.<\/em>&#8221; Here are some of the most <strong>haunted places in ritzy-ist restaurants in Detroit.\u00a0 The mansion reflects the economic might of old Detroit.\u00a0 Lumber baron <a title=\"David Whitney Jr.\" href=\"https:\/\/detroithistorical.org\/learn\/encyclopedia-of-detroit\/whitney-jr-david\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">David Whitney Jr.<\/a> built the mansion in 1894.\u00a0 <a title=\"HISTORY of Detroit\u2019s Most Iconic Mansion\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thewhitney.com\/history?formCode=MG0AV3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">Since 1894<\/a>, it has been many things, including a <strong><a title=\"The 13 Most Haunted Places in Detroit, MI\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hauntedrooms.com\/michigan\/detroit\/haunted-places\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">tuberculosis ward<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Rumor has it that <strong>David Whitney Jr.&#8217;s ghost still haunts the grounds<\/strong>.\u00a0 There have been so <a title=\"A Look at 6 Haunted Places in Michigan\" href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.org\/article\/trip-idea\/look-haunted-places-michigan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">many sightings<\/a> that the current owners have opened the<strong> <a title=\"Ghostbar\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thewhitney.com\/the-mansion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc\">Ghostbar<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re into the paranormal and need a cocktail, this is the place for you.<\/p>\n<h3>The Masonic Temple is haunted<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p><a title=\"The 7 Most Haunted Places in Michigan\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hauntedrooms.com\/michigan\/haunted-places\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">most haunted places<\/a> in Detroit.\u00a0 It <a title=\"Detroit Masonic Temple\" href=\"https:\/\/historicdetroit.org\/buildings\/masonic-temple\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">opened<\/a> at its current location on Temple Avenue in 1926.\u00a0 This new, much larger Temple included a public theater, where shows like <a title=\"The Romantics\" href=\"https:\/\/theconcertdatabase.com\/artists\/romantics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">The Romantics<\/a>, <a title=\"https:\/\/theconcertdatabase.com\/artists\/john-mellencamp\" href=\"https:\/\/theconcertdatabase.com\/artists\/john-mellencamp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">John Mellencamp<\/a>, and <a title=\"Duke Ellington Orchestra\" href=\"https:\/\/theconcertdatabase.com\/concerts\/duke-ellington-orchestra-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">Duke Ellington<\/a> played.\u00a0 In 2013, the Temple was facing foreclosure.\u00a0 However, Detroit native <a title=\"Watch Detroit native Jack White perform national anthem at Tigers Opening Day\" href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/entertainment\/2022\/04\/08\/detroit-tigers-opening-day-watch-jack-white-perform-national-anthem\/9513215002\/#:~:text=Native%20Detroiter%20Jack%20White%20opened%20the%20Tigers%20season%20with\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">Jack White<\/a> put up cash to cover most of the taxes required to keep the doors open for visitors and ghosts.<\/p>\n<p>The Masonic Temple&#8217;s most <strong>famous ghost<\/strong> is its architect, <strong><a title=\"George D. Mason\" href=\"https:\/\/historicdetroit.org\/architects\/george-d-mason?formCode=MG0AV3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">George D. Mason<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 The architect lost all his money financing the construction.\u00a0 His wife left him and <strong>jumped from the building&#8217;s roof.\u00a0 <\/strong>He <a title=\"Haunted Detroit\" href=\"https:\/\/storenational.com\/blog\/haunted-detroit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">has been seen<\/a> at the bottom of the stairs, and even after locking the door to the roof, it always somehow becomes unlocked.\u00a0 Several guests who have been to the Temple and the building&#8217;s night patrolmen are said to have seen his ghost.\u00a0 The Temple has various cold spots; many people feel they are being watched in the building.<\/p>\n<h3>The Henry<\/h3>\n<div id=\"col-1850692809\" class=\"col medium-8 small-12 large-8\">\n<div class=\"col-inner\">\n<p>Ten miles southwest of the Masonic Temple is the Henry.\u00a0 Before it became <strong><a title=\"The Henry\" href=\"https:\/\/www.behenry.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">The Henry<\/a><\/strong>, the hotel was a Ritz-Carlton.\u00a0 As the Ritz, the hotel had considerable <strong>paranormal activity<\/strong>.\u00a0 Guests at the hotel <a title=\"Ghostly guests: Some Michigan hotels - and owners - haunted by spirits\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/travel\/michigan\/2016\/10\/21\/haunted-michigan-hotels\/92313160\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">claim<\/a> that doors would open and close on their own and lights would switch on and off without the assistance of a living person.\u00a0 The French doors in <strong>room 418<\/strong> reportedly opened on their own.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, once the French doors were secured, they would jiggle without anyone touching them.\u00a0 The lights in that room would also reportedly turn off and on without assistance.\u00a0 Some people claim that the paranormal activity stopped after the hotel&#8217;s name change, but others still believe it is one of the most haunted places in Michigan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Eloise<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/haunted_eloise-e1728081600346.png?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-132532\" title=\"The former psychiatric hospital is home to numerous spirits\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/haunted_eloise-e1728081515953-150x142.png?resize=125%2C118&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"The former psychiatric hospital is home to numerous spirits\" width=\"125\" height=\"118\" \/><\/a>Eloise Hospital<\/strong>, also known as <a title=\"Eloise Asylum\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eloise_%28psychiatric_hospital%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">Eloise Asylum<\/a>, is located in Westland, Michigan, 8 miles southwest of the Henry.\u00a0 Eloise is haunted.\u00a0 The site opened in 1839 as the <a href=\"https:\/\/babel.hathitrust.org\/cgi\/pt?id=mdp.39015026963739;view=1up;seq=35\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wayne County Poorhouse<\/a>.\u00a0 The former<strong> psychiatric hospital<\/strong> is home to <a title=\"Michigan's most haunted: Eloise Psychiatric Hospital\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clickondetroit.com\/features\/2016\/10\/24\/michigans-most-haunted-eloise-psychiatric-hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">numerous spirits<\/a>.\u00a0 Paranormal investigators have reported seeing apparitions, hearing unexplained noises, and experiencing other eerie phenomena.\u00a0 Jeff Adkins, the <a title=\"Detroit Paranormal Expeditions\" href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitparanormalexpeditions.com\/about-dpx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">Detroit Paranormal Expeditions<\/a> lead investigator, claims his group found <strong>paranormal activity<\/strong> in the wards on the second, third, and fifth floors.\u00a0 Adkins <a title=\"Touring history: Inside Eloise asylum\" href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/news\/local\/wayne-county\/2018\/10\/30\/touring-history-inside-eloise-asylum\/1745820002\/#:~:text=The%20Eloise%20Hospital%20Complex%20has%20stood%20along%20Michigan%20Avenue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">described<\/a> an incident where a walker mysteriously appeared in the middle of the hallway after he cleaned up the hallway.\u00a0 &#8220;<em>&#8230; The walker was in the middle of the walkway &#8230; We had to move it, and we had just walked through there.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Today, <a title=\"Eloise Asylum\" href=\"https:\/\/eloiseasylum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">Eloise Asylum<\/a> offers haunted attractions and paranormal investigations during Halloween.<\/p>\n<div id=\"col-1850692809\" class=\"col medium-8 small-12 large-8\">\n<div class=\"col-inner\">\n<div id=\"gap-443807757\" class=\"gap-element clearfix\"><span style=\"color: #444444;
