The blog says this eliminates the need for IT administrators to constantly stay on top of malware threats and proactively block them.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-108422\" title=\"networked printers and multifunction devices\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/printer_hp9000-1.jpg?resize=90%2C90&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"networked printers and multifunction devices\" width=\"90\" height=\"90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/printer_hp9000-1.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/printer_hp9000-1.jpg?resize=75%2C75&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/printer_hp9000-1.jpg?w=260&amp;ssl=1 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 90px) 100vw, 90px\" \/>Survey data from <a title=\"Xerox\" href=\"http:\/\/www.xerox.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Xerox<\/a> (<a title=\"NYSE | XRX\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-XRX\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">XRX<\/a>) and <a title=\"McAfee\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mcafee.com\/us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">McAfee<\/a> underscores the need for embedded security in networked printers and multifunction devices. In a poll of office workers taken earlier this year: 33% say they either don\u2019t always follow their company\u2019s IT security policies; 21% aren\u2019t aware of the company\u2019s IT security policies.<\/p>\n<p>The survey also showed 39% of employees who copy, scan or print confidential information at work say they wonder whether information like customer credit card numbers, financial reports, human resources, and tax documents will remain secure on networked a device.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>IT administrators <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130313142312\/http:\/\/www.obsidianportal.com:80\/campaigns\/d20-modern-the-valiant-wardens\/characters\/knight\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-108425\" title=\"Self protecting network\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Knight.jpg?resize=87%2C100&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Self protecting network\" width=\"87\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Knight.jpg?resize=131%2C150&amp;ssl=1 131w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Knight.jpg?resize=66%2C75&amp;ssl=1 66w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Knight.jpg?resize=768%2C879&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Knight.jpg?resize=895%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 895w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Knight.jpg?w=1563&amp;ssl=1 1563w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Knight.jpg?w=960&amp;ssl=1 960w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Knight.jpg?w=1440&amp;ssl=1 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 87px) 100vw, 87px\" \/><\/a>don\u2019t always consider printers as a threat \u2013 and with the Embedded Control software, we\u2019ve put up even more defenses in our products so they don\u2019t have to,<\/em>\u201d said Rick Dastin, president, Xerox Office, and Solutions Business Group.<\/p>\n<p>Xerox devices protected and managed by McAfee Embedded Control and McAfee Embedded Management software will become available beginning in 2013, with products in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.office.xerox.com\/multifunction-printer\/color-multifunction\/enus.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Xerox WorkCentre<\/a> and <a title=\"Xerox ColorQube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.office.xerox.com\/multifunction-printer\/color-multifunction\/colorqube-9201-9202-9203\/enus.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ColorQube<\/a> product lines.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>rb-<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Finally, some tangible results from\u00a0<a title=\"Intel\" href=\"https:\/\/www.intel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Intel<\/a>&#8216;s (<a title=\"HASDAQ : INTC\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-INTC\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">INTC<\/a>) acquisition of McAfee. We use McAfee where I manage shared technical services, and just we just rolled out version 8.8 which says Intel on it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I have covered the risks of putting multifunction devices on your network <a title=\"Copiers Get Politicized\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p2wgaW-JF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>, <a title=\"Blackhole Crimeware\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p2wgaW-2OF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>, <a title=\"Copier Security Best Practices\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p2wgaW-Km\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">and<\/a> <a title=\"Trojan Launches Massive Print Jobs\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p2wgaW-4OR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.
