TechCrunch studied how closely their voting records align with what they call consensus interests of the technology industry. <em>TechCrunch<\/em> explains that after finding <strong>patterns in technology lobbying<\/strong> through public records, they determined where there was industry consensus on particular bills by surveying the most prominent technology lobbies, which collectively represent most of the industry. There was consensus on 3 issues: immigration, crowdfunding, and an <strong>open Internet (SOPA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/rbach.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-98933\" title=\"Michigan\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/michigan5-8.png?resize=89%2C100&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Michigan\" width=\"89\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/michigan5-8.png?w=134&amp;ssl=1 134w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/michigan5-8.png?resize=67%2C75&amp;ssl=1 67w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 89px) 100vw, 89px\" \/><\/a><\/em>None of Michigan&#8217;s Rep&#8217;s earned an A from the site. <em>TechCrunch<\/em> ranked some well-known Michigan politicians way down.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"John Conyers\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171206002523\/https:\/\/conyers.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>John Conyers<\/strong><\/a>, <a title=\"Michigan&#039;s 14th District\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20121212012748\/http:\/\/conyers.house.gov\/index.cfm\/14th-district?p=district-map\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MI-14<\/a> (D) who has in Washington for 47 years now, <strong>earned a D<\/strong> for his sponsorship of <a title=\"SOPA\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stop_Online_Piracy_Act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SOPA<\/a>, <em>(Which I noted <a title=\"Congress Prepares to Destroy the Web\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p2wgaW-3ty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">earlier)<\/a>.<\/em> You tweet Conyers <a title=\"John Conyers\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/repjohnconyers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> and tell him to do better by tech.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"John Dingell\" href=\"http:\/\/dingell.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>John Dingell<\/strong><\/a> <a title=\"Michigan&#039;s 15th District\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20141206035421\/https:\/\/dingell.house.gov\/our-district\/map-district\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MI-15<\/a> (D) who has been a politician in DC for 58 years <strong>earned a grade of C.<\/strong>\u00a0You can tweet Dingell <a title=\"John Dingell\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/john_dingell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.
