Wang\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130825134025\/http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/specials\/packages\/article\/0,28804,1984685_1984864_1985425,00.html\">J.T. Wang<\/a>, chairman of <a title=\"Acer\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20140408011639\/http:\/\/www.crunchbase.com:80\/company\/acer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"crunchbase noopener noreferrer\">Acer<\/a> (<a title=\"OTC US : ACEIY\" href=\"http:\/\/investing.businessweek.com\/research\/stocks\/snapshot\/snapshot.asp?ticker=ACEIY:US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ACEIY<\/a>) The company will continue to carry out brand integration and the entire process is expected to be completed in three years. Reportedly, Acer will continue to invest in post-PC Gateway and <a title=\"Packard Bell \" href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/z435na\/packard-bell-was-the-king-of-90s-computing-what-happened\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Packard Bell<\/a> products to sell \u201c<em>a variety of devices that would have been thought of as beyond the PC in the past,<\/em>\u201d Lisa Emard, an Acer spokeswoman, <a title=\"Acer sheds eMachines, turns to Gateway and Packard Bell for post-PC era\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pcworld.com\/article\/2026208\/acer-sheds-emachines-turns-to-gateway-and-packard-bell-for-post-pc-era.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> in an email to <a title=\"PCWorld\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcworld.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>PCWorld<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Acer was the fourth-largest PC vendor behind <a title=\"HP\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HP<\/a> (<a title=\"NYSE : HPQ\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nyse.com\/quote\/XNYS:HPQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HPQ<\/a>),\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lenovo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lenovo<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/OTC-LNVGY\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LNVGY<\/a>) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dell<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NYSE-DELL\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DELL<\/a>). They have shipped around 7 million units, in FY 2012, a drop of 28.2% compared year over year reports <em>PCWorld.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>rb-<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>eMachines, the ultimate throw-away machine, has fallen victim to the iPad. I had an eMachines for a while at the turn of the century, and yes it survived Y2K.
