The nonprofit public interest organization said those firms hired 276 former government officials, including 18 former members of Congress, to fight against rules that would require them to treat all Web sites and content equally on their networks.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"AT&amp;T\" href=\"\/\/www.att.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AT&amp;T<\/a> (<a title=\"NYSE : T\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nyse.com\/quote\/XNYS:T\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">T<\/a>) has hired Republicans and Democrats from the US House and Senate to lobby for them including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/wiki\/Jim_Davis_%28politician%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jim Davis<\/a> former Democratic congressman from Florida;<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/wiki\/Trent_Lott\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trent Lott <\/a> former Republican senator from Mississippi;<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/wiki\/Victor_H._Fazio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vic Fazio<\/a> former Democratic representative from California;<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/wiki\/John_Breaux\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Breaux<\/a> former Republican senator from Louisiana;<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/wiki\/J.C._Watts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">J.C. The <em>Post<\/em> says Ms. Stanton will be a vice president driving Twitter&#8217;s international business strategy and operations. Ms. Stanton previously worked at Google as a product manager for the search engine\u2019s finance application.<\/p>\n<p>She joined the <a title=\"White House\" href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">White House<\/a> as the director of citizen participation after working on new media strategies for President Obama\u2019s election campaign.
