{"id":3322,"date":"2010-08-05T21:37:41","date_gmt":"2010-08-06T01:37:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rbach.net\/blog\/?p=3322"},"modified":"2021-08-09T19:52:46","modified_gmt":"2021-08-09T23:52:46","slug":"wall-street-up-jobs-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rbach.net\/index.php\/wall-street-up-jobs-down\/","title":{"rendered":"Wall Street Up Jobs Down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3324\" style=\"border: 0pt none; margin-left: 3px; margin-right: 3px;\" title=\"Wall Street Up Jobs Down\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/recession.jpg?resize=71%2C71&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Wall Street Up Jobs Down\" width=\"71\" height=\"71\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"Economic Policy Institute\" href=\"http:\/\/www.epi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Economic Policy Institute<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.epi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EPI<\/a>) recently<a href=\"http:\/\/www.epi.org\/economic_snapshots\/entry\/corporate_profits_have_recovered_but_job_market_still_depressed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> pointed out<\/a> that while <a title=\"Wall Street\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wall_Street\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">Wall Street<\/a> has already made up all the profits lost in the <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">depression<\/span>,<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\"> recession<\/span>, economic slump, the job market remains stalled. The chart indexes both to 100 at the start of the recession so the lines show how far profits and employment have recovered.
