Its current sales rate is about 4.5 million units per quarter, according to <a title=\"Sanford Bernstein\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sanford_Bernstein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener noreferrer\">Bernstein Research<\/a>. This sales rate is blowing past records. iPad is outselling iPhone and the DVD player, the most quickly adopted non-phone electronic product.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apple iPad Will Fail in the Enterprise<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-110133 size-thumbnail\" title=\"Dell logo\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/dell_logo-3.jpg?resize=75%2C75&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Dell logo\" width=\"75\" height=\"75\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/dell_logo-3.jpg?resize=75%2C75&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/dell_logo-3.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/dell_logo-3.jpg?w=224&amp;ssl=1 224w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 75px) 100vw, 75px\" \/><\/a>the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com.\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apple<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-AAPL\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AAPL<\/a>) <a title=\"iPad\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/?cid=OAS-US-DOMAINS-aple.com\/ipad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iPad<\/a> would ultimately fail in the enterprise. That is what <a title=\"Andrew Lark\" href=\"https:\/\/thedailylark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andy Lark<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dell<\/a>&#8216;s (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NYSE-DELL\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DELL<\/a>) global head of marketing for large enterprises and public organizations told <a title=\"CIO\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cio.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>CIO Australia<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230; longer term, open, capable and affordable will win, not closed, high price and proprietary [Apple has] done a really nice job, they\u2019ve got a great product, but the challenge they\u2019ve got is that already Android is outpacing them.<\/p>\n<p>Apple is great if you\u2019ve got a lot of money and live on an island. It\u2019s not so great if you have to exist in a diverse, open, connected enterprise; simple things become quite complex.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mr. Lark claimed Dell had taken an enterprise approach toward <a title=\"Tablet personal computer\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tablet_personal_computer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener noreferrer\">tablet PCs<\/a>. This approach will ultimately give Dell an edge. Dell has a major stake in Microsoft Windows and the desktop PC market. \u201c<em>We\u2019ve taken a very considered approach to tablets, given that the vast majority of our business isn\u2019t in the consumer space,<\/em>\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of Apple products was another deterrent to iPad deployments. Dell&#8217;s Lark claims that the economics on a fully loaded iPad did not add up. \u201c<em>An iPad with a keyboard, a mouse, and a case [means] you\u2019ll be at $1500 or $1600; that\u2019s double of what you\u2019re paying,<\/em>&#8221; he claimed. &#8220;<em>That\u2019s not feasible.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the company&#8217;s history with Microsoft, it had embraced both Windows Phone 7 and Android operating systems \u201c<em>\u2026Our strategy is multi-OS,<\/em>&#8221; Lark said. &#8220;<em>We will do Windows 7 coupled with <a title=\"Android\" href=\"http:\/\/android-developers.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"blog noopener noreferrer\">Android Honeycomb<\/a>, and we\u2019re really excited. With the app, you can carry around a year&#8217;s worth of messages with you. Pst Mail can interact with the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad to reply to or forward messages. It can also open pst files created with any version of Microsoft Outlook.<\/p>\n<p><em>AppScout<\/em> says to find messages in large pst files, Pst Mail includes an advanced search feature. You can search by sender, recipient, subject text, message body, or even attachment name. You can also limit the search to a particular time frame. The developers offer a free lite version of the app in the <a title=\"ITunes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/itunes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener noreferrer\">iTunes<\/a> Store, which has all the same features as the full version but is limited to the number of messages a user may open in each folder. The full version costs $9.99 in the<a title=\"iTunes\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20121003052839\/http:\/\/itunes.apple.com:80\/app\/pst-mail\/id408374049?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> iTunes app store<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><a title=\"DailyWireless\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160402050925\/http:\/\/www.dailywireless.org\/2011\/02\/28\/gotomypc-ipad-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GoToMyPC: iPad App<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gotomypc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-110137 size-thumbnail\" title=\"GoToMyPC\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/gotomypc-ipad-icon.jpg?resize=75%2C75&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"GoToMyPC\" width=\"75\" height=\"75\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/gotomypc-ipad-icon.jpg?resize=75%2C75&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/gotomypc-ipad-icon.jpg?w=83&amp;ssl=1 83w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 75px) 100vw, 75px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a title=\"Citrix\" href=\"https:\/\/www.citrix.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Citrix<\/a> (<a title=\"NASDAQ : CTXS\" href=\"https:\/\/investors.citrix.com\/news-and-events\/press-releases\/2022\/01-31-2022-130150749\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CTXS<\/a>) has launched an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com.\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apple<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-AAPL\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AAPL<\/a>) <a title=\"iPad\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/ipad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iPad<\/a> version of <a title=\"GoToMyPC\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gotomypc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GoToMyPC<\/a>, a remote desktop application that lets you log in to your computer and control it on the go. Up until recently, you needed a PC to log in to a remote PC using the service. But the <a title=\"iTunes\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171128162339\/https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/gotomypc-remote-desktop\/id417742726\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iPad app<\/a> lets you do it anywhere you can get an internet connection on an iPad.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Mobiputing\" href=\"http:\/\/mobiputing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mobilputin<\/a>g says GoToMyPC is hardly the first app of its type for the iPad. <a title=\"Logmein\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160708004300\/https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/logmein-ignition\/id299616801?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LogMein<\/a>,<a title=\"Team Viewer\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171128175928\/https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/teamviewer-hd\/id379424610?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> TeamViewer<\/a>, <a title=\"Parallels\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170809031607\/https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/parallels-mobile\/id295531450?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Parallels<\/a>, and <a title=\"Splashtop\" href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/splashtop-remote-desktop\/id382509315?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Splashtop<\/a> all offer similar apps. Two suits were filed in the Northern District of CA against the iPhone and iPad manufacturer. Apple is named in Lalo v. Apple, 10-5878.<\/p>\n<p>Lalo seeks class action and claims that iPhones and iPads are encoded with identifying devices that allow advertising networks to track what applications users download, how frequently they\u2019re used, and for how long. \u201cSome apps are also selling additional information to ad networks, including users\u2019 location, age, gender, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and political views,\u201d <a title=\"BusinessWeek\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20110101010401\/http:\/\/www.businessweek.com:80\/news\/2010-12-30\/apple-sued-over-applications-giving-information-to-advertisers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reports<\/a> <em><a title=\"Business Week\" href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bloomberg&#8217;s<\/a> <a title=\"BusinessWeek\" href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BusinesWeek<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Wired\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20120427150057\/http:\/\/www.wired.com:80\/epicenter\/2010\/12\/apple-user-tracking-suit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">According<\/a> to <a title=\"Wired\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Wired<\/em><\/a> the second suit, Freeman v.
