Approves Net Neutrality Rules, Classifying Broadband Internet Service as a Utility\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220402184246\/http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/02\/27\/technology\/net-neutrality-fcc-vote-internet-utility.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Net Neutrality<\/a>, Michigan\u2019s own <a title=\"Fred Upton\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/politicians\/summary.php?cycle=Career&amp;cid=N00004133\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fred Upton<\/a>\u2014who holds <a title=\"Politicians Who Regulate Big Cable Invest in AT&amp;T, Comcast, and Verizon\" href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/politicians-who-regulate-big-cable-invest-in-at-t-comc-1660870116\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">personal investments in AT&amp;T, Comcast, and Verizon<\/a>\u2014has introduced anti-Net Neutrality legislation that eliminates the FCC&#8217;s authority to regulate internet service providers and could crush the agency\u2019s ruling and allow <a title=\"AT&amp;T\" href=\"http:\/\/www.att.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">AT&amp;T<\/a> (<a title=\"NYSE : T\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NYSE-T\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">T<\/a>), <a title=\"Comcast\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xfinity.com\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Comcast<\/a> (<a title=\"NASDAQ : CMCSA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NASDAQ-CMCSA\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CMCSA)<\/a> and\u00a0<a title=\"Verizon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.verizon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Verizon<\/a> (<a title=\"NASDAQ : VZ\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/NYSE-VZ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VZ<\/a>) to rule the Internet at our cost to grow their profits.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>rb-<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>I have already seen an ad on <a title=\"Brighthouse\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160421054704\/http:\/\/brighthouse.com:80\/?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BrightHouse<\/a> cable from <a title=\"Advocacy groups accused of obscuring corporate ties in net neutrality debate\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150111105655\/http:\/\/www.cio.com.au:80\/article\/558204\/advocacy-groups-accused-obscuring-corporate-ties-net-neutrality-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Broadband For America<\/a>, (whose <a title=\"Members page\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170202044200\/http:\/\/www.broadbandforamerica.com\/about\/members\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">membership page<\/a> is empty) claiming that the <a title=\"FCC\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fcc.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FCC<\/a> ruling will force them to raise taxes. Here come more imaginary &#8220;<a title=\"FTC sues AT&amp;T over misleading and deceptive use of \u2018Unlimited\u2019 data plans\" href=\"https:\/\/www.extremetech.com\/extreme\/193088-ftc-sues-att-over-misleading-and-deceptive-unlimited-data-plans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regulatory re-capture<\/a>&#8221; <del>profits<\/del> fees.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>For right now, this is a rare win for the 99% in post 9-11 &#8216;murica.
