A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20180606081357\/https:\/\/www.absolute.com\/en\/resources\/research\/mobile-device-security-survey-report-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report<\/a> by <a title=\"Endpoint security\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150717110941\/http:\/\/searchmidmarketsecurity.techtarget.com\/definition\/endpoint-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">endpoint security<\/a> and management products producer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.absolute.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Absolute Software<\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/finance?cid=666380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ABT<\/a>)\u00a0concludes that millennials take the most risks with your data. The report says they pose a greater risk to corporate <a title=\"Data security\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Data_security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">data security<\/a> than other user demographics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarp.org\/politics-society\/advocacy\/info-2014\/the-generation-war.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-102545 size-medium\" title=\"Boomer vs. millennial\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/battle-of-the-ages-inter-generational-war.jpg?resize=150%2C96&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Boomer vs. millennial\" width=\"150\" height=\"96\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/battle-of-the-ages-inter-generational-war.jpg?resize=150%2C96&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/battle-of-the-ages-inter-generational-war.jpg?resize=75%2C48&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/battle-of-the-ages-inter-generational-war.jpg?w=420&amp;ssl=1 420w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>The findings between generational mobile security behaviors are likely to be <a title=\"Counterintuitive\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Counterintuitive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">counter-intuitive<\/a> to many who assume younger generations to be more knowledgeable and more aware of security threats in mobile tech use than older generations according to\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150722012326\/http:\/\/www.fiercebigdata.com:80\/story\/millennials-greatest-risk-corporate-data\/2015-05-17\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FierceBigData<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/stephenmidgley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stephen Midgley<\/a>, VP of Global Marketing at Absolute Software said;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\"><em>We conducted this survey with the intention of helping enterprises better understand the current attitudes that employees have towards data security and privacy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The presser from\u00a0Absolute Software\u00a0says that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>64% of millennials use their <strong>employer-owned device for personal use<\/strong>, as opposed to 37% of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Baby_boomer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">baby boomers<\/a><\/li>\n<li><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-102549 size-medium\" title=\"Shrug it off\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/shrug.png?resize=150%2C83&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Shrug it off\" width=\"150\" height=\"83\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/shrug.png?resize=150%2C83&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/shrug.png?resize=75%2C42&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/shrug.png?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>50% of respondents believe that <strong>security is not their responsibility<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>35% of millennials <strong>change their default settings<\/strong>, compared to 8% of\u00a0baby boomers<\/li>\n<li>27% of millennials <strong>access &#8220;<a title=\"Not safe for work\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Not_safe_for_work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">Not Safe For Work<\/a>&#8220;<\/strong> content, compared with only 5% of\u00a0baby boomers<\/li>\n<li>25% of millennials <strong>believe they compromise <a title=\"Computer security\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Computer_security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">IT security<\/a><\/strong>, compared with only 5% of\u00a0baby boomers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>rb-<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The author concludes that these findings underscore why data trumps instinct or gut feeling given its counter-intuitive results.
