But big Telecom&#8217;s <strong>House Republican<\/strong> stooges continue their <strong>war against consumers and the open Internet<\/strong>. The telecom lackeys have buried riders in a budget bill that would <strong>stop the <a title=\"Federal Communications Commission\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fcc.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage nofollow noopener noreferrer\">FCC<\/a> from enforcing the Net Neutrally regs<\/strong> until courts decide several challenges.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150614083722\/http:\/\/www.fiercecable.com:80\/story\/house-republicans-try-take-down-net-neutrality-gutting-fcc-fiscal-budget\/2015-06-11\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">According<\/a> to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20180707102735\/https:\/\/www.fiercecable.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FierceCable<\/a><\/em>, the GOP&#8217;s 2016 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations bill, unveiled recently, has three riders buried in the budget rules that:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150614083722\/http:\/\/www.fiercecable.com:80\/story\/house-republicans-try-take-down-net-neutrality-gutting-fcc-fiscal-budget\/2015-06-11\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-105832\" title=\"riders buried in the budget\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sneak_attack.jpg?resize=91%2C70&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"riders buried in the budget\" width=\"91\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a>Prevent the FCC from enforcing its <a href=\"http:\/\/rbachnet.wwwmi3-ss40.a2hosted.com\/index.php\/net-neutrality-we-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">net neutrality<\/a> rules, pending what could be years of litigation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cut the FCC budget<\/strong> by $73 million.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prohibits the FCC from regulating rates<\/strong> for both wireline and wireless Internet services.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20131003072125\/http:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/person\/harold-feld\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Harold Feld<\/a>, senior VP at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.publicknowledge.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Public Knowledge<\/a>, in a responding statement told <em>FierceCable<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Worst of all, the <a title=\"United States House Committee on Appropriations\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_House_Committee_on_Appropriations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">Appropriations Committee<\/a> ban on FCC enforcement that &#8216;directly or indirectly&#8217; regulates prices would prevent the FCC from <a href=\"http:\/\/americanvision.org\/4616\/political-bosses-corrupt-politicians-and-a-compliant-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-105834\" title=\"ban on FCC enforcement\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/political_fat_cat.png?resize=178%2C178&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"ban on FCC enforcement\" width=\"178\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/political_fat_cat.png?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/political_fat_cat.png?resize=75%2C75&amp;ssl=1 75w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/political_fat_cat.png?w=300&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 178px) 100vw, 178px\" \/><\/a>performing even the most basic <a title=\"Consumer protection\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Consumer_protection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener wikipedia noreferrer\">consumer protection<\/a> action, such as the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160610150941\/http:\/\/www.computerworld.com:80\/article\/2922174\/wireless-carriers\/can-you-hear-us-now-verizon-and-sprint-ordered-to-issue-refunds-for-cramming-charges.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FCC enforcement<\/a> against wireless carriers requiring them to refund charges for services customers did not order or had discontinued.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Public Knowledge VP Feld concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;
