Now it seems that the Taiwanese technology giant has decided that to drop people from production altogether. <\/em><a title=\"www.techeye.net\" href=\"http:\/\/www.techeye.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>TechEye<\/em><\/a> reports that <a title=\"Terry Gou\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/wiki\/Terry_Gou\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Terry Gou<\/a>, founder, and chairman of <a title=\"Foxconn\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foxconn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Foxconn<\/a> (<a title=\"HK:2038\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/stock\/2038?countrycode=HK&amp;link=MW_story_quote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2038<\/a>), <a title=\"www.xinhuanet.com\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170611093806\/http:\/\/news.xinhuanet.com\/english2010\/china\/2011-07\/30\/c_131018764.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> <a title=\"www.xinhuanet.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.xinhuanet.com\/english2010\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Xinhuanet<\/em><\/a> that the firm will replace up to 1 million people with robots over the next three years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxconn.com\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-109898\" title=\"foxconn logo\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/foxconn_Logo-3.jpg?resize=121%2C42&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"foxconn logo\" width=\"121\" height=\"42\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/foxconn_Logo-3.jpg?w=150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rbach.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/foxconn_Logo-3.jpg?resize=75%2C26&amp;ssl=1 75w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 121px) 100vw, 121px\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Terry Gou\" href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/lists\/2008\/10\/billionaires08_Terry-Gou_X28Q.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mr. Gou<\/a> told <em>Xinhuanet<\/em> that Foxconn <span id=\"Zoom\">now has 10,000 robots and the number will be increased to 300,000 next year and 1 million in three years. according to a company statement cited by PCWorld.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>While no one will deny that robots are efficient and they also don&#8217;t <a title=\"www.dailytech.com\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170821110647\/http:\/\/www.dailytech.com\/Update+Chinese+Worker+Commits+Suicide+After+iPhone+Prototype+Disappears\/article15743.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">commit suicide<\/a> <a title=\"www.wired.com\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20140210191105\/http:\/\/www.wired.com:80\/gadgetlab\/2009\/11\/silicon-sweatshops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">due to<\/a> <a title=\"www.dailytech.com\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171019032519\/http:\/\/www.dailytech.com:80\/Report+Only+Escape+From+Hellish+Apple+iPhone+Factory+Was+Suicide\/article18428.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">harsh working conditions<\/a>. But as we painfully know here in <a title=\"Detroit\" href=\"http:\/\/www.detroitmi.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener noreferrer\">Detroit<\/a>, robots <a title=\"www.wired.com\" href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130928082247\/http:\/\/www.wired.com:80\/techbiz\/media\/news\/2003\/08\/59882\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">create job losses<\/a>, thus generating unintended consequences throughout the world economy.
